Which September Catalysts Are Actually Worth Sizing Into Before Month-End

Federal money just landed in quantum, and a dated security catalyst hits next week.

You already know the AI computer story is not slowing down. The question is where the next leg of pricing power actually comes from.

This week hands you federal cash landing in quantum fabrication, a training-hardware name drawing institutional buyers on weakness, and a security platform walking into its biggest demo window of the year.

Elon's trillionaire scheme (Sponsored)

This ingenious scheme – hatched in the shadow of the Global Financial Crisis – could come to fruition in the coming weeks.

It may turn Elon into a multi-trillionaire while erasing a looming threat one top Trump insider calls "an economic apocalypse."

This is what it means for your money.

Cloudflare Pushes Quantum-Safe Protection Into Core Internet Infrastructure

Cloudflare (NYSE: NET) is adding post-quantum protection to its 1.1.1.1 public DNS resolver, allowing the service to validate DNSSEC signatures created with the ML-DSA-44 algorithm. The cryptographic standard is designed to remain secure even against future quantum computers that could break many techniques used today.

DNSSEC verifies that internet users are receiving authentic domain information rather than manipulated records. Adding quantum-resistant signatures extends that protection to a future where conventional public-key cryptography may no longer be enough.

Bigger Signatures Create a Networking Challenge

Post-quantum security comes with a technical tradeoff. ML-DSA-44 signatures are much larger than traditional digital signatures, reaching roughly 2,420 bytes and creating more data for DNS systems to transmit and process.

Cloudflare has had to adapt its resolver infrastructure to handle those larger packets without slowing everyday lookups. The work touches networking, caching, packet handling, and validation across a service processing enormous volumes of DNS traffic.

Quantum Readiness Reaches Everyday Internet Traffic

Users don't need special hardware or software to benefit when supported domains adopt the new cryptography. The protection operates within the infrastructure that translates domain names into internet addresses.

Cloudflare is bringing post-quantum security out of experimental environments and into a widely used internet service. Preparing DNS now gives the company time to solve performance and compatibility problems before quantum-resistant cryptography becomes a broader requirement.

NVLink Fusion Extends NVIDIA Beyond Its Own GPUs

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) is extending NVLink Fusion to support AI accelerators built by other chip companies. d-Matrix plans to connect its Raptor inference processors directly into NVIDIA-style server systems using the same high-speed interconnect technology that links NVIDIA hardware.

The move gives custom chips access to a fast data path between processors, memory, and surrounding infrastructure. Instead of operating as isolated accelerators, third-party silicon can become part of a larger rack-scale computing system.

The Interconnect Becomes Part of the Platform

NVLink is designed to move huge amounts of data between chips with much lower delay than standard server connections. That becomes increasingly important when multiple accelerators need to work together on the same inference workload.

NVLink Fusion broadens that architecture beyond NVIDIA’s own processors. Chip designers can keep their custom compute engines while using NVIDIA connectivity to tie those systems together at data center scale.

NVIDIA Extends Its Reach Beyond the GPU

Opening NVLink creates another way for NVIDIA technology to sit inside AI infrastructure even when the main accelerator comes from somewhere else. The company can supply the communication layer that helps different processors operate as one coordinated system.

For data centers, that means more freedom to mix specialized AI chips without abandoning high-speed rack connectivity. NVIDIA is turning NVLink from an internal GPU technology into a broader foundation for heterogeneous AI computing.

Software

Adobe Pushes Acrobat Beyond Reading and Editing

Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) is expanding Acrobat with a new Productivity Agent that can transform complex documents into other useful formats. The system can turn source material into audio summaries, presentations, resumes, invoices, reports, and visual content without requiring users to rebuild the information manually.

The agent works across a document's structure and meaning rather than treating a PDF as a static page. Long reports or dense files can be reorganized into formats better suited for listening, presenting, or sharing.

One Source, Multiple Outputs

Users can ask Acrobat to reshape existing material around a specific task, audience, or format. A report can become a presentation, a detailed document can become an audio briefing, and business information can be reworked into structured files for day-to-day use.

Adobe is combining document understanding with content generation inside the same workspace. The original file remains the source of truth while the Productivity Agent handles much of the conversion and restructuring.

Enterprise Libraries Join the Workflow

Business users can also connect Acrobat with shared document repositories, allowing the agent to work across larger collections of company information. That gives teams a way to search, interpret, and reuse knowledge spread across multiple files.

Acrobat is broadening from a PDF application into a document intelligence platform. Adobe is giving the software a larger role in turning stored information into presentations, audio, business documents, and other finished material.

Recent Tech Movers

Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI)

Washington just paid for the hard part

Rigetti landed a CHIPS award of up to $100 million on September 8 aimed squarely at scaling quantum chip manufacturing. It arrived inside a broader package of roughly $300 million that also went to D-Wave and Quantinuum, with the government taking a minority equity stake in each, which tells you the federal position is no longer a research grant. It is industrial policy for qubits.

Why that matters for your position: fabrication is where quantum companies burn cash and miss timelines. Government money that funds process work and yield improvement takes the most dilutive part of the story off the table for a while. At about $15 at Friday's close and a $5 billion market cap, you are paying for a manufacturing roadmap rather than a finished product.

Keep both eyes on insider behavior. The CEO sold 120,000 shares for roughly $1.9 million right after the government agreement was signed, which is exactly the kind of print that gets read two ways. It can be routine tax and diversification selling, or it can be a signal about how management values the news. One sale is not a thesis. A pattern of them would be.

What to watch next: milestone disclosures tied to the award, and any commercial contract that is not a government pilot. Real enterprise revenue is the tell that this stops being a policy trade.

Cerebras Systems (NASDAQ: CBRS)

Institutional buyers stepped in on the dip

Cerebras is still one of the cleanest ways to own purpose-built training and inference hardware outside of Nvidia. The stock has been under pressure with the rest of high-multiple AI names as yields climbed, closing Friday near $192 for a market cap around $43 billion.

The interesting move came from the buy side. ARK bought roughly $17.2 million of Cerebras during the week of September 8 while trimming other AI holdings. You do not have to follow anyone's book to find that useful. It tells you there are large buyers treating this weakness as an entry rather than an exit.

Insider activity has leaned toward selling from executives in recent months, which is normal for a company this soon after its listing. The fundamental question is unchanged: does the inference bottleneck stay severe enough that customers pay for specialized silicon instead of buying more general-purpose accelerators? Every quarter that answer stays yes, the story holds.

SentinelOne (NYSE: S)

Two conference dates and a guidance raise

SentinelOne posted fiscal Q2 2027 results on August 27 and raised its full-year revenue outlook to a range of $1.202 billion to $1.207 billion. Inside the print, the AI-native pieces of the Singularity platform, Prompt Security and Purple AI, delivered triple year-over-year growth in annual recurring revenue.

The stock did not reward it. Shares fell about 8% in the days after the raise and the unveiling of new OpenAI-powered security tools, and they closed Friday just under $20 for a market cap around $6.9 billion. That gap between operating progress and share price is where your opportunity sits, if the demand story is real.

Your catalysts are dated. LABScon runs Wednesday, September 16 through Saturday, September 19 at the Omni Scottsdale Resort in Arizona, and public product demos land at OneCon from October 20 to 22 at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas. Position ahead of the demos, not after them, because platform deals in security get talked about at these events before they show up in a quarter.

Speculative Play

D-Wave Quantum (NASDAQ: QBTS)

The other name in the federal quantum package

D-Wave took part of the same roughly $300 million federal push into domestic quantum capability that funded Rigetti and Quantinuum. It closed Friday near $17 for a market cap around $6.3 billion, which means you are buying a company whose commercial revenue is still small next to its valuation.

The setup is speculative for a reason. Annealing-based systems solve a narrower class of problems than the gate-model machines its competitors are building, so the customer list matters more here than the physics. If federal money translates into named enterprise deployments over the next two quarters, the story gets much easier to underwrite. If it does not, you are holding a policy headline.

Size it small and treat the next funded milestone disclosure as your decision point. A quantum position that can cost you real money is a position that is too big.
