This Week's Data Shifts Set Up Four Late-October Earnings Reactions

Three mid-cap tech names that held their bid while AI hardware got roughed up Monday. Not the same trade.

Monday was ugly if you owned chips or hyperscaler infrastructure. Anthropic's safety warning hit AI hardware hard and dragged a bunch of adjacent names down with it. But not everything cracked. A few corners of tech barely flinched, and one printed a fresh multi-month high into the close.

Here's where you should be looking this week, before Wednesday's Fed decision reshuffles the deck.

Consumer Software

Apple Brings Its New Siri to Millions of Devices

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has released iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate 27, moving its latest software and intelligence features onto supported devices.

The updates bring the new Siri AI, refined Liquid Glass visuals, performance improvements, and broader Apple Intelligence capabilities.

The release moves Apple’s newest AI system beyond developer previews and public testing. Siri AI can now become part of the daily software experience across the iPhone and Mac rather than remain an upcoming feature shown at company events.

Siri Reaches Across the System

Apple has designed Siri AI to use personal context, understand information displayed on the screen, and complete actions across compatible apps.

The assistant can work with emails, messages, photos, web information, and other content already available within Apple’s operating systems.

Its deeper system access separates the new Siri from a standalone chatbot. Apple is turning the assistant into an intelligence layer that can connect information and actions across the software people already use.

macOS Draws a Line Under Intel Software

macOS Golden Gate 27 also carries an important change for older applications. It is the final macOS release supporting Rosetta, Apple’s translation technology for running software originally developed for Intel-based Macs on Apple silicon.

The decision gives developers and businesses a clearer deadline for moving remaining applications to Apple silicon. Apple is advancing its AI software while closing one of the final chapters of the Mac’s transition away from Intel processors.

PC Hardware

NVIDIA Turns RTX PCs Into Local AI Workstations

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) is bringing Perplexity’s Portable Computer to compatible GeForce RTX PCs and RTX Pro workstations. The software can examine files, connect information, and complete multi-step assignments using AI models running directly on the machine.

Portable Computer gives the system more responsibility than a typical desktop assistant. It can handle longer requests involving multiple files and actions while using the processing power already available in an RTX-equipped PC.

Local Models Keep Data Close

Running models locally means sensitive documents do not automatically need to leave the computer for cloud processing. Files can remain on the device while the software analyzes their contents and produces results.

The approach gives businesses, professionals, and creators another way to use AI with private or confidential material. Cloud services can still support larger workloads, but the PC handles more of the immediate work without sending every request to a remote server.

RTX Expands Beyond Graphics

NVIDIA has spent years turning RTX hardware into a computing platform for gaming, content production, engineering, and AI. Perplexity’s software gives those GPUs a new role as the engine behind personal agents capable of carrying assignments through several steps.

The release also strengthens NVIDIA’s position inside the emerging local AI market. RTX PCs are becoming machines that can run useful models and agent-style software alongside traditional Windows applications.

Network

Cisco Shows What Enterprise Wi-Fi 7 Looks Like at Scale

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) has upgraded network infrastructure supporting about 90,000 employees to Wi-Fi 7. The company used its own integrated networking technology to complete the large-scale transition without disrupting normal operations.

The rollout moves Wi-Fi 7 beyond home routers and early hardware demonstrations. Cisco is showing how the new wireless standard can operate across a large organization with thousands of employees, devices, applications, and network connections.

More Capacity for Connected Workplaces

Wi-Fi 7 provides higher capacity, lower latency, and stronger performance in environments where many devices compete for the same wireless connection.

Those improvements matter most in offices running video meetings, cloud applications, large file transfers, and real-time collaboration.

Cisco combined the wireless upgrade with its broader networking stack instead of treating each access point as a separate system.

Centralized management allows technical teams to monitor performance, identify problems, and manage network activity across the organization.

Security Travels With the Network

The deployment also strengthens security by connecting wireless access with Cisco’s network monitoring and protection tools. A unified system gives administrators greater visibility into devices, users, and unusual activity across the company network.

Cisco has effectively turned its own workforce into a large test of enterprise Wi-Fi 7. The upgrade gives the company a working example of how customers can modernize wireless infrastructure without halting business activity.

Recent Tech Movers

Enphase Energy (NASDAQ: ENPH)
Solar Comeback Catches A Bid

Enphase has been a punching bag for most of two years as rates climbed and residential solar demand cratered. That story is finally shifting.

You're seeing European volumes running above the prior peak, and US installer channel checks show the first real sequential improvement in inverter attach in six quarters.

Any softening by the Fed on the rate path plays directly into this name. Residential solar economics turn on financing rates more than any other input, and even a hold changes the ROI math on a new install by a meaningful amount for you as the homeowner.

Shares have climbed off the 52-week low but sit well below where they traded two years ago. Q3 earnings in late October are your setup. Confirmation of the volume recovery gets the multiple back toward peers.

Risk: A hawkish Warsh hike Wednesday hits residential solar first and hardest. Size your position accordingly.

Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH)
Activist Push Gains Real Traction

Match has been dead money for years. The setup is finally moving.

Elliott and Starboard both hold positions, and management has begun the kind of portfolio review that usually precedes actual change: pruning underperforming apps, resetting marketing spend, and putting Tinder monetization back at the center of the story you're watching.

Paying user counts on Tinder stabilized in the last two quarters, and Hinge continues to compound revenue in the mid-20s. Neither of those data points is priced into a stock you can buy at a discount to every free cash flow multiple in its history.

The catalyst calendar is loaded. Q3 earnings drop in late October, a strategic review update is rumored before year-end, and management has committed to accelerating the buyback pace.

Risk: If Q3 shows another leg down in Tinder MAU, the activist thesis takes a real hit.

Bruker (NASDAQ: BRKR)
Instruments Name Building Base

Bruker spent most of 2025 getting cut nearly in half on funding-cycle worries in academic and government labs. Those worries are moving in reverse.

NIH budget guidance for fiscal 2027 came in stronger than the sell side modeled, and Bruker's proteomics platform is picking up share in a double-digit growth segment. Watch it.

Recent tuck-in acquisitions in mass spectrometry and single-cell analytics are hitting revenue synergies faster than management guided you. Backlog sits at a multi-year high. Book-to-bill has been above one for three straight quarters.

Q3 earnings in early November are your test. If bookings hold and management confirms the margin recovery path, you get a real rerating candidate.

Risk: Academic funding is lumpy. Any continuing resolution drama in DC this fall pushes orders right and resets the setup.

Elon's FCC secret (Sponsored)

James Altucher believes Elon Musk just filed a plan with the FCC to take over the AI industry… from outer space.

Around the same time, Trump signed an order gutting the red tape around commercial space launches… and signed the second order pushing NASA to hand its work to private companies (aka SpaceX).

It’s clear Washington is clearing the runway for Elon’s biggest project to date…

And James Altucher predicts it could create 1,806,000 NEW millionaires over the next decade starting September 25.

This FREE millionaire maker masterclass describes why you should get positioned in the $100 company at the center of it all.

It’s critical that you view it NOW.

The Power Module Bet Hiding Inside the Next AI Rack

Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ: VICR)

Why it's on the radar

Vicor makes the high-density DC-to-DC power converters that step data center power down to the voltages accelerators actually run on.

As GPU racks pull more current, the power architecture has to change, and Vicor's factorized modules solve exactly that problem. Keep in mind, design wins with two of the top three accelerator vendors are already in place.

The catalyst

The company spent three years underinvesting in growth while building out a chip-scale packaging fab in Massachusetts.

That fab is now running, and the gross margin recovery of the last two quarters is your evidence that the operating leverage is coming through. Q3 earnings in late October are the tell.

The setup

Shares sit well below the 2021 peak, and the market still treats Vicor like a legacy analog name rather than a leveraged play on next-gen AI power delivery.

If order flow confirms the design-win ramp, the story changes fast. Risk: this is small enough that a single design loss meaningfully shifts the story, so keep your position size honest.
