Gold Reset Coming (Sponsored)
For decades, America's official gold price has stayed frozen at a 1973 level, even as real gold prices have climbed past $3,100.
Some Washington watchers believe Trump may move to correct that number.

Google Reworks Voice Input With Gemini 3.5 Transcribe

Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) is upgrading voice input with Gemini 3.5 Transcribe, an AI model designed to understand spoken intent rather than record every word.
The system can remove filler words, handle mid-sentence corrections, and produce cleaner text while someone is still speaking.
Google says the model works across 85 languages and can recognize specialized vocabulary supplied by the user. Pre-recorded audio can also separate speech from as many as three different speakers.
Voice Input Spreads Across the Google Stack
Gemini 3.5 Transcribe already powers Rambler inside Gboard on Pixel 11 devices, where spoken thoughts can be converted into polished text. Google is now extending the same technology to Gemini on Mac, Antigravity, AI Studio, and its developer API.
Chrome is also scheduled to gain the technology, allowing voice input inside regular web fields. Emails, forms, searches, and AI prompts could all use the same smarter transcription layer.
Dictation Starts Understanding the Message
Google says the new model can deliver finished text around 70% faster than its previous Chirp 3 system while also reducing transcription errors.
Faster processing matters when voice is being used as a live input method rather than for recordings reviewed later.
The bigger technical change is how Gemini interprets speech before producing text.
Google is evolving voice typing from literal transcription into context-aware writing assistance that can clean up spoken language as it arrives.

Enterprise Computing
IBM Pushes Smaller Models Into Bigger Enterprise Jobs

IBM (NYSE: IBM) is expanding its Granite family with Granite 4.2, a new group of open-weight AI models built for coding, tool use, and multi-step agent tasks. The lineup includes 3B, 8B, and 30B versions, giving companies different options depending on available hardware and workload size.
The larger models are trained to work across terminals, web searches, software tools, and coding environments. IBM is targeting practical enterprise jobs where an AI system needs to complete several connected actions rather than produce a single response.
Local Hardware Gets More Capability
Granite 4.2 supports a context window of up to 128,000 tokens, allowing the models to work with large documents, codebases, and lengthy instructions in one session.
Open weights also mean organizations can download the models, fine-tune them, and run them inside their own infrastructure.
That flexibility matters for businesses that want AI closer to private data or existing systems. Smaller models can also require less computing power than frontier-scale alternatives, making local deployment easier.
Agents Gain More Freedom Behind the Firewall
IBM is positioning Granite 4.2 for AI agents that can search, code, call tools, and move through longer workflows with limited supervision. Enterprises can build those systems around their own security, data, and software environments.
Granite 4.2 strengthens IBM’s push toward compact, controllable AI rather than relying only on giant cloud-hosted models.
The new family gives developers another path to build capable agents while keeping more of the technology in-house.

Gaming
Microsoft Bridges Physical Xbox Games With the Cloud

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is adding a disc-to-digital system for supported Xbox One and Xbox Series X games. Players can insert a physical game and claim a digital entitlement tied to that disc, extending access beyond the traditional console-only setup.
The physical copy still remains usable, while the digital entitlement can unlock supported versions elsewhere in Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem. That gives older disc-based libraries a path into newer digital and cloud-driven experiences.
One Game, More Places to Play
Eligible titles can connect with Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing the same game to work across Xbox and Windows PCs without requiring another purchase.
Some supported games can also become available through Xbox Cloud Gaming once the entitlement is recognized.
Microsoft is effectively using the physical disc as proof of ownership while the software layer handles where the game can run. The result is a more flexible library that can move between local hardware and streamed gaming.
Ownership Gets a Digital Bridge
The system also accounts for what happens when the physical disc changes hands. The digital license can move with ownership rather than remaining permanently attached to the original account.
That approach lets Microsoft modernize physical game collections without eliminating discs. Xbox is connecting traditional ownership with cloud access, cross-device play, and digital libraries through one entitlement system.

Recent Tech Movers
Fintech Infrastructure
Toast (NYSE: TOST)
Platform Integrations Trigger Fresh Analyst Upgrades
TOST reported Q2 CY2026 revenue up 23.1% year over year to $1.91 billion, with GAAP EPS of $0.26 coming in 28.2% above analysts' consensus estimates. Since the print, the story has gotten denser, and here is what you need to track.
On August 6, Toast announced an expanded integration with Google that brings agentic food ordering to Ask Maps, letting diners ask by voice or text for a recommendation. Four days later, Adyen announced an expansion of its partnership with Toast into the U.S.
The sell side moved with it: Barclays raised its target to $39 from $35 with an Overweight rating post-Q2, and JPMorgan raised its target to $42 from $38, keeping Overweight and viewing the Q2 report as strong. Anchor your view against the $42 high mark.
Next catalyst is proof that the Google and Adyen tie-ups translate into net location adds when Q3 prints. Q2 already saw recurring gross profit up 28%, record net location adds, and full-year guidance raised for both profit and EBITDA.
Your risk: pricing pressure in a crowded stack. BTIG flagged a Toast $10,000 sign-on bonus for new SMB customers as a competitive-strain signal on August 25, which you should take as a real datapoint, not noise.
Enterprise Cloud
Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX)
Hybrid Cloud Turnaround Gathering Steam
NTNX is one of the few enterprise infrastructure names actually growing free cash flow at scale.
The pivot from perpetual licenses to subscription is largely done, ARR is compounding at a low-20s clip, and gross margins now sit in the mid-80s. Very different company from the one you were pricing three years ago.
Catalyst is the fiscal Q4 print in early September. Watch the net new ACV number and any commentary on VMware displacements.
Broadcom's price hikes on VMware have been a tailwind for NTNX all year and there's no sign of that reversing. Risk: any hint that VMware customers are re-upping instead of switching.
Communications Platform
Zoom Communications (NASDAQ: ZM)
AI Monetization Finally Reading Through
Zoom reported earlier this week and the response was constructive.
Enterprise revenue is now the majority of the mix, AI Companion adoption is showing up in retention numbers, and Contact Center is starting to land material seven-figure deals. This is not the pandemic Zoom you remember.
Your edge here is expectations. The Street models minimal upside from AI monetization through 2027. If ZM shows even modest paid conversion on Companion Pro over the next two quarters, the numbers get re-cut higher.
A pile of cash on the balance sheet keeps the buyback running underneath you. Risk: enterprise IT budgets softening if the macro rolls over into year-end.

Speculative Play
Enterprise AI
UiPath (NYSE: PATH)
A Binary Print with An Asymmetric Setup
UiPath reports fiscal Q2 after the close on September 3, and this is one of the more interesting binary setups you'll find in the enterprise AI names right now.
Stock has been beaten up for two years on questions about the go-to-market rebuild, the founder's return to the CEO seat, and whether the legacy RPA base gets cannibalized as the platform pivots toward agent builder, Maestro process orchestration, and the broader agentic workflow stack. Consensus expectations are sitting on the floor.
What put it on my radar
Two things. First, the federal pipeline: Defense Department and civilian agency wins landing at a pace that isn't showing up in Street models yet.
Second, the partner channel: the Microsoft, Google Cloud, and AWS resell deals are finally generating booking momentum, and management has pointed to the back half of the fiscal year as the inflection.
What could blow it up
The obvious risk is another guide cut. UiPath has burned holders on guidance more than once, and a bad print likely takes the stock back to prior lows. This isn't a core position. It's a catalyst trade. If you take it, size it for the tail.
