Intel Brings High-NA EUV Into Commercial Chip Production

Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) is using High-NA EUV lithography in high-volume manufacturing, including selected layers of its Core Ultra Series 3 processors.
The technology lets chipmakers print smaller, more precise circuit patterns as transistor designs become increasingly difficult to manufacture.
High-NA systems use a larger numerical aperture than current EUV machines, improving the resolution available during chip production. That gives Intel another tool for creating denser processors without relying as heavily on complicated multi-patterning techniques.
Bigger Chips Need a Wider Canvas
Intel and ASML are also working on larger photomasks and advanced stitching methods for High-NA manufacturing. Stitching lets separate patterned sections join accurately when a processor design is too large for a single exposure.
That capability matters for high-performance processors that continue growing in size and complexity. Larger masks could make High-NA practical across more chip categories, rather than limiting the technology to smaller designs.
The Lithography Roadmap Reaches the Fab
Moving High-NA EUV into volume production marks an important step beyond research systems and experimental wafer runs. Intel can now test the technology under the speed, yield, and reliability demands of commercial manufacturing.
The work with ASML also gives Intel a path toward using High-NA across increasingly complex processors. Advanced lithography is becoming part of the production toolkit that will shape the next generations of semiconductor manufacturing.

IPG is the dominant player, and it's been out of favor for two years. Quality franchise plus washed-out sentiment. That's where speculative money should live.
Defense demand is the near-term catalyst
US and European defense budgets are moving hard into directed-energy programs, and IPG's high-power fiber lasers are an enabling technology.
This isn't a sell-side story yet. But the RFP flow has picked up. You want to be positioned before those contract announcements start hitting the wire in 2027.
