Late October Through December Brings the Prints That Decide Where Overlooked Tech Goes Next

Earnings prints between late October and December could reset how tech gets priced.

The next three months put a specific calendar in front of you: observability, solar, financial data, and federal services all report before year-end.

Each one carries a distinct catalyst, from AI revenue finally showing up on the top line to book-to-bill signals on defense contracts. Here is what to watch, and when.

In 1929, Irving Weiss spotted danger before most of Wall Street saw it coming.

That research process later became the foundation of Weiss Ratings — and now the system is flashing one of its strongest warnings in years.

Their latest briefing explains what could hit the market in the back half of 2026, which popular stocks may be vulnerable, and which lesser-known names they believe could benefit.

Hardware

Nvidia Moves Deeper Into the World’s Largest AI Supercomputer

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is set for another enormous hardware expansion inside Colossus 2, the giant AI supercomputer operated by SpaceXAI. The company plans to roughly double the number of advanced Nvidia processors running at the facility before the end of the year.

Colossus 2 already uses approximately 110,000 GB200 chips and 440,000 newer GB300 chips. Several planned deliveries could add as many as 660,000 GB300 processors over the coming months.

GB300 Takes Over the Next Phase

The GB300 is designed for demanding AI training and inference workloads that require enormous amounts of memory and computing power. Its growing presence inside Colossus 2 shows how quickly large AI developers are moving toward Nvidia’s newest Blackwell systems.

Another 220,000 GB300 chips are expected to arrive shortly, followed by a similar shipment in November. A third delivery of the same size could be completed before the end of December.

Colossus 2 Pushes Beyond One Million Chips

Completing the full expansion would take Colossus 2 beyond one million advanced Nvidia processors. The project demonstrates the extraordinary hardware, electricity, cooling, and networking required to operate AI systems at this scale.

The expansion also strengthens Nvidia’s position at the center of the AI infrastructure race. Colossus 2 is becoming a powerful example of how far demand for Nvidia’s latest technology has moved beyond conventional data centers.

IBM Brings Tokenized Deposit Transactions to Its Banking Platform

IBM (NYSE: IBM) has added support for SWIFT’s blockchain-based shared ledger to its Digital Asset Haven platform. The beta connection allows banks and other regulated institutions to test transactions involving tokenized deposits across permissioned blockchain networks.

IBM has also introduced an ISO 20022 messaging adapter for the platform. Banks can instruct tokenized transactions using familiar financial messages instead of creating separate workflows built specifically for blockchain systems.

Digital Assets Stay Inside the Data Center

A second beta brings IBM Digital Asset Haven into customer-owned data centers through IBM Z and LinuxONE systems. The setup operates without public cloud infrastructure, keeping the platform, digital assets, and key-management systems inside the institution’s controlled environment.

IBM is supporting the deployment with Crypto Express hardware security modules, confidential computing, and separated production and testing environments. The on-premises version uses the same architecture, APIs, and workflows as IBM’s cloud and hybrid options.

Existing Banking Systems Remain in Place

Swift’s shared ledger supports bank-issued tokenized deposits while existing systems continue handling final settlement. Participating institutions can move assets around the clock while keeping their established compliance procedures and transaction standards.

Seventeen financial institutions are already testing tokenized deposits through the Swift ledger. IBM is connecting that network with secure mainframe infrastructure, giving banks a controlled route into blockchain-based transactions without replacing the systems already running their operations.

Processors

Microsoft Gives Its Lightweight Surface PCs a Major Performance Upgrade

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has introduced a new 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus processor. Both devices retain their compact designs while adding faster computing, stronger graphics, and improved battery efficiency.

Microsoft worked with Qualcomm during development to tune the processor for thin Windows computers. The chip is designed to support sustained performance, quiet operation, lower power use, and on-device AI processing.

Graphics and Local AI Get Faster

Microsoft claims the new models provide up to 17% faster performance in Microsoft Office workloads. Graphics performance improves by more than 60%, while battery efficiency rises by up to 18% compared with the previous generation.

Local AI processing sees the biggest gains, with Microsoft claiming up to 95% performance improvements through the neural processing unit. Supported tasks can run on the computer, through cloud services, or across both systems depending on the workload.

Surface Adds Haptic Control

Microsoft also introduced a Surface Mouse with built-in haptic feedback alongside the two computers. The feature creates physical responses during navigation and adds another control option to the company’s expanding Surface accessory lineup.

The new hardware gives Microsoft a fresh showcase for Windows, Copilot, and Snapdragon working inside lightweight PCs. Surface remains the company’s testing ground for combining longer battery life, local computing, and faster performance without moving toward larger machines.

Recent Tech Movers

Dynatrace (NYSE: DT)

AI ops story finally in the numbers

Dynatrace trades just under its 52-week high, and the story behind the move is straightforward. Enterprises rolling out AI agents and autonomous workflows need observability tools that can actually see what those agents are doing in production. Dynatrace built its Grail data lakehouse and Davis AI engine years ago for exactly this workload. That's why you should care.

Pipeline is turning into ARR. Number to watch on the next print is subscription revenue growth, and consensus has been drifting up for two months running. That's usually the setup for a beat and a raise. If it lands, the multiple has room to work from here.

The risk. Dynatrace trades at a premium, and if the software recovery stalls, high-momentum names take the first punch. Keep position sizing honest at these levels.

Nextracker (NASDAQ: NXT)

Solar tech riding data center demand

Nextracker makes the smart tracking systems that keep utility-scale solar panels pointed at the sun through the day. Sounds boring. Until you connect it to the AI story. Data center operators need reliable power, gigawatts of it, and behind-the-meter solar plus storage is the fastest way to add capacity that doesn't wait on grid interconnect queues stretching into 2029.

The company holds roughly a 30% share in a market growing double digits, and its balance sheet is stronger than most in solar because it doesn't own the panels, just the trackers and software. You get a much cleaner business model in a high-rate environment.

Watch for the next catalyst: fiscal Q2 earnings in late October, and any commentary on data-center-linked contracts. Your risk is policy: any real change to IRA solar incentives resets sentiment on the whole group in a hurry.

FactSet Research Systems (NYSE: FDS)

AI tools finally paying rent

FactSet is a slow, steady compounder that professional buy-side teams pay for and never leave. Here's what's changed over the last two quarters: the AI integration is now visible. FactSet Mercury, their generative AI assistant, is embedded across the platform, and enterprise clients are paying for it rather than getting it thrown in. You can see it in the numbers.

That matters. AI has been a cost line at FactSet all year, not a revenue line. If Mercury shifts to a genuine revenue contributor when they report fiscal Q1 in December, your multiple story changes.

The stock has trailed the broader tech market all year, which is exactly why the setup looks interesting. Low expectations plus a real catalyst is where the biggest moves tend to start for you.

The risk. Financial data spending tracks buy-side health. If hedge fund AUM contracts in a bond rout, seat counts get trimmed first, and FactSet feels it before most.

Government Services

Amentum Holdings (NYSE: AMTM)

Federal AI money at a services multiple

Amentum came together in September 2024 when Jacobs spun off its Critical Mission Solutions unit and merged it with legacy Amentum, giving the combined company exposure to defense IT, nuclear engineering, space systems, and increasingly federal AI and cyber programs. Market cap sits in the mid-single-digit billions, small for the scale of contracts it actually competes for. The federal budget is being reshaped around AI, autonomy, and cyber. You're looking at a company already on the pre-qualified vendor lists for the programs writing the checks.

What put it on my radar

Fiscal Q4 earnings land in mid-November. Management has already signaled book-to-bill improving. If they confirm rising AI-linked awards on the call, your stock can move from a services multiple toward a tech-services multiple, and that gap is meaningful. The stock sits near its 52-week low, about half its high, so the bar is low.

What could blow it up

Government services is lumpy. Contract timing slips, congressional continuing resolutions delay awards, and margins come in wide bands. Size the position accordingly, and let the November print be your read.
