Anthropic's IPO Filing Just Gave One AI Cloud a New Benchmark

An AI cloud lifted by Anthropic's IPO filing, a solar reset, and a fuel cell whipsaw.

Anthropic's preliminary filing to go public gave you a fresh benchmark for the AI infrastructure trade, and Nebius jumped on the news. Enphase went the other way after a guide that showed its core solar business shrinking, and Bloom Energy swung both ways in a single week.

Below are three stories worth your time, then the movers where the next catalyst is still ahead of you.

Cisco Begins One of Its Largest Software Rewriting Projects

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) has assigned a two-person engineering team to rewrite 98% of the company's legacy code within 24 months. A four-week proof of concept will test whether the plan can work at the required scale.

The project is being led by 27-year-old engineer Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy, who joined Cisco after the company acquired translation startup EzDubs. Cisco has given the team unrestricted access to AI coding tokens for the assignment.

AI Takes On Older Software

Legacy code can remain inside company systems for decades, becoming harder to maintain as programming languages, hardware, and security requirements change. Cisco is testing whether AI tools can refactor that software faster than traditional development teams.

The goal reaches far beyond generating a few new features or fixing isolated problems. Cisco wants to replace large sections of older code while preserving the products, network functions, and business systems that still depend on it.

Testing Will Decide the Outcome

Every rewritten component will need checks covering security, reliability, performance, and compatibility with existing Cisco products. AI-generated code can create errors or remove important functions when the original software is not fully understood.

The first four weeks will determine whether the team can move from a limited test into the wider 24-month project. Success could give Cisco a new way to modernize older software across its enterprise technology portfolio.

Amazon Turns Alexa Into a Shopping Account Manager

Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has added more than 100 shopping capabilities to Alexa, letting the assistant manage tasks tied to orders and customer accounts. The update moves Alexa beyond product searches and basic voice commands.

Customers can create gift lists and registries, check existing items, and add or remove products through conversation. Alexa can also answer questions about orders without requiring users to move through different sections of Amazon's website or app.

Subscriptions Move Into Conversation

Alexa can now manage Subscribe & Save orders, including changing how frequently a product is delivered. A monthly delivery can be moved to every two or three months through a spoken request.

The assistant can also handle delivery addresses, drop-off instructions, payment problems, and billing questions. Support extends to Prime and Audible subscriptions, bringing several Amazon account functions into one interface.

Shopping Becomes More Automated

Amazon says more than 400 million customers used Alexa for shopping during the past 12 months. Use of its more advanced shopping functions has increased eightfold since the beginning of the year.

Alexa is becoming software that can take actions inside an Amazon account, not just answer questions. The update gives Amazon a direct way to connect conversational technology with subscriptions, payments, deliveries, and repeat purchases.

IBM Launches Quantum-Safe Suite to Prepare Companies for Future Cyberattacks

IBM (NYSE: IBM) has introduced IBM Quantum Safe, a unified security suite designed to help companies prepare their systems for post-quantum cryptography. The platform brings planning, risk discovery, security assessment, remediation, and ongoing governance into one system.

Future quantum computers could eventually break several encryption methods currently used to protect sensitive information. IBM Quantum Safe helps companies identify where those methods are being used before they become a serious security weakness.

The Platform Maps Vulnerable Encryption

Large organizations can spread encryption across applications, databases, cloud services, networks, and legacy infrastructure. Finding every certificate, key, and cryptographic method can become one of the most difficult parts of preparing for quantum-related threats.

IBM Quantum Safe builds on Guardium Cryptography Manager to inventory cryptographic assets and link them to business importance. Security teams can then prioritize systems carrying sensitive or long-lasting information instead of replacing everything at once.

Migration Becomes an Ongoing Security Process

The suite converts security goals into migration plans that account for technical limits and normal business operations. It also tracks remediation work and provides continuous governance as encryption standards and company systems change.

IBM is positioning post-quantum preparation as a company-wide technology update, not a simple software patch. Quantum Safe gives businesses a central platform to identify vulnerable encryption, plan replacements, and measure progress toward stronger protection.

Recent Tech Movers

Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS)

Anthropic's IPO filing lifts AI clouds

Nebius jumped 11% on October 27 after Anthropic's preliminary filing to go public and a $63 billion lender package for Anthropic's Broadcom chips lifted AI infrastructure stocks. Nebius rents GPU capacity to AI developers, so a public Anthropic gives you a fresh yardstick for AI compute demand.

Nebius has not confirmed its third-quarter date, but its past schedule points to around November 10. Watch revenue growth against the heavy spending needed to add capacity.

Enphase Energy (NASDAQ: ENPH)

A guide that resets the core business

Enphase fell about 16% on October 28 after third-quarter revenue of $293 million missed estimates, and fourth-quarter guidance of $225 million to $255 million landed well below the Street. If you own it, note that Oppenheimer downgraded the stock, saying a recovery in the core business is not materializing as higher rates weigh on U.S. home solar.

Your next markers are a fifth-generation battery and a solid-state transformer pilot in early 2027. Further storage price cuts would squeeze margins before the next report early next year.

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE)

An AI power whipsaw

Bloom Energy dropped about 11% on October 23 despite record third-quarter revenue of $1.24 billion and a third guidance raise this year, as the market focused on about $181 million of negative free cash flow. If you hold it, the shares bounced about 7% on October 27 as the Anthropic financing news lifted AI power names.

Bloom's fuel cells give data centers on-site power without waiting for grid hookups. Watch whether cash flow turns positive as the raised $4.4 billion to $4.6 billion revenue guide plays out.

Don’t Overlook This Tech Stock

Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI)

Intel's quantum bet lifts the group

Rigetti rose about 8% on October 27 after Intel agreed to buy quantum software company Classiq, a deal Bloomberg valued at about $2.3 billion. For you, a major chipmaker paying that much for quantum software is a vote of confidence in the sector, and Rigetti builds the superconducting quantum chips that hardware-agnostic software like Classiq's is designed to run on.

Your catalyst is third-quarter results on Tuesday, November 10, after the close. Revenue is still small, and the stock sits far below its 52-week high, so size this as a speculative position.
