An Overlooked AI Infrastructure Name Reports Tuesday
While the usual suspects hog the spotlight, this under-the-radar name posted 47%+ growth last quarter and reports again Tuesday
Every big AI headline this year has gone to the same five or six names. But a smaller enterprise computing player reports fiscal Q4 results Tuesday after the close, coming off a quarter where revenue grew 47.6% year over year.

He claims the clues are already buried in government filings, along with one investment move he believes should be made before December 9.

Every big AI headline this year has gone to the same five or six names. But a smaller enterprise computing player reports fiscal Q4 results Tuesday after the close, coming off a quarter where revenue grew 47.6% year over year.
The company is Penguin Solutions (NASDAQ: PENG), and the setup going into this print deserves a spot on your radar.
Last quarter (fiscal Q3), net sales jumped 47.6% from a year ago, and adjusted EPS came in at $0.84, well ahead of the roughly $0.55 consensus. Same quarter last year? Growth was just 8.6%. That's a real acceleration.
The question for Tuesday is whether management's forward commentary on the AI advanced-compute pipeline keeps the re-rating thesis alive. If institutions buy the growth story, shares have room to run. If they don't, the air comes out fast.
Action: Shares jumped about 12% Friday to $61.36 heading into the print. If you're building a position, don't chase into the report; scale in on any post-report pullback into the $55 to $62 range.
The next catalyst is fiscal 2027 guidance commentary and whether management names any new enterprise or federal AI cluster wins.

What Penguin Actually Does
Penguin Solutions is an enterprise technology company built around three businesses: advanced computing (AI and high-performance clusters for enterprises), integrated memory (DRAM and SSD modules for servers and systems), and LED services.
The advanced computing piece is where you'll find the AI story.
Think of them as the plumber for AI buildouts outside the hyperscalers. If you're a research lab, a Fortune 500 CIO, or a federal agency that needs an AI cluster but you're not renting it from Microsoft, Penguin designs and deploys it.
That matters because enterprise AI spend is the second wave of this cycle, after the hyperscalers already placed their massive first-wave orders.
At roughly $3.1 billion in market cap, PENG is a fraction of the household AI names. Every point of growth gets amplified in the stock price. Volatility cuts both ways, so size accordingly.
Action: Treat this as a mid-cap AI infrastructure proxy, not a pure semiconductor name. Position size should reflect that.

Why the Setup Looks Different This Quarter
The hyperscalers already built their first-wave data centers. The next leg is Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies wanting their own clusters for security, privacy, and compliance reasons.
That's exactly PENG's sweet spot, and you can see it in the acceleration from single-digit growth last year to 47.6% last quarter.
DRAM pricing has turned higher in 2026 as AI servers eat capacity. For your integrated memory position, that's a direct tailwind on both volumes and margins. Operating leverage without having to find new customers. Hard to beat.
The capital structure is cleaner too. Penguin rebranded from SMART Global Holdings and shed non-core businesses, so the market can finally model it as a focused story. That's part of why shares re-rated so aggressively off last fall's lows near $16.

What to watch for in Tuesday's report:
- Whether fiscal 2027 guidance confirms the AI advanced-compute pipeline is still accelerating into calendar 2027.
- Any named enterprise or federal AI cluster win. That validates the pipeline and gives institutions a reason to add.
- Sequential gross margin expansion, which tells you memory pricing tailwinds are actually flowing through to the P&L.
Action: Watch gross margin and fiscal 2027 revenue guidance first. Those two lines tell you more than the headline EPS number.

Bear Case
When a stock runs this hard into earnings, it often sells the news even on a beat. Don't be surprised by a sharp overnight drawdown even on a solid print.
A chunk of PENG's revenue is tied to a limited customer base, typical of enterprise system integrators but still a real risk you need to weigh. One large customer pushing an order into the next quarter can swing the whole result.
Then there's the broader AI capex question. If enterprise CIOs start pulling back on AI spending into 2027 over cost concerns, PENG sits directly in your crosshairs. The second-wave buildout thesis depends on that spending holding up.
And valuation isn't cheap anymore. PENG isn't trading like a sleepy semi. The market is pricing it as a growth story, which means your margin for error on forward guidance is slim. Any softness in the outlook gets punished.
Action: Hedge the single-name risk with a broader AI infrastructure name like Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI) or a semiconductor ETF.
SMCI began shipping Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 racks on September 23, and in late September NetApp announced a collaboration with Super Micro to deliver jointly validated AI infrastructure combining Supermicro's rack-scale systems and liquid cooling with NetApp's data management platform, giving you two fresh catalysts behind the hedge.
If you already own PENG, consider trimming a quarter of your position to lock in gains and let the rest ride.

Bottom Line
Penguin Solutions reports fiscal Q4 Tuesday after the close, coming off a quarter with net sales up 47.6% year over year, and the stock has run hard into the print. You're buying the enterprise AI infrastructure thesis against a backdrop of elevated expectations.
Scale in on any post-earnings weakness, keep your size disciplined given the volatility, and reassess if shares close below $48 on heavy volume.
From my seat, the risk/reward works, but only with discipline on entry. Don't chase the open. The best entries on names like this come 24 to 48 hours after the print, once the first wave of trading settles.

Setup Scorecard
Entry Zone: $55 to $62 on any post-earnings pullback
Target: $78 to $85 over 6 to 12 months
Stop Loss: Reassess below $48 on heavy volume
Catalyst Timeline: Fiscal Q4 results and fiscal 2027 guidance on Tuesday, Oct 6 after the close
Confidence Level: Medium. The AI advanced-compute tailwind is real and the growth inflection is dramatic, but shares have moved aggressively and chase risk is elevated.
